Minas Gerais

Good evening from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais where we have enjoyed a glorious day exploring the Brazilian mountains and forest. Minas Gerais is a large and important state in Brazil (about the size of Spain) with an abundance of natural resources and breathtaking scenery. It is known for the production of coffee and for its many rivers.

Well, we are happy to have an internet connection but regretfully, it is a slow connection and doesn't allow for posting photos. So, photos will be coming soon. For now, please know that our students went hiking today and then enjoyed a beautiful 3 hour boat cruise which culminated in a visit to some stunning rock formations and waterfalls. The students played under the cold waterfall (it was a very hot day) and went swimming before throwing a spontaneous "dance party" on the boat as we returned to land. Parents, if you are in any way worried about your daughters, this is a good time to turn your attention to something else - your daughters are all laughing, dancing, taking photos, making friends and immersing themselves in all the beauty and adventure that Brazil has to offer. They (we) are also consuming a LOT of chocolate and steak and rice and beans (and more).

We will post photos and write as we are able - Good Night from Minas Gerais!
