Iguassu Falls!!

After our reluctant departure from Ribeirao Preto, our Brazil delegation flew to Iguassu Falls for a short excursion and to experience a different area of Brazil.

Many of you may recall that Iguassu Falls is the area where Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet and is where the famous movie "The Mission" was filmed. Iguassu is one of the most magnificent and majestic places on earth and our delegates have been in awe of its beauty. The water levels are very high due to much recent rain so the sights are especially dramatic. On our first day at Iguassu, our delegation spent the morning hiking all along the Brazil side of the falls. It was a perfect weather day and we took our time all along the trails observing plants, animals (coatis are our favorite!) and the waterfalls.

Blending in with the coatis!
Yes, Rafael is still with us !! We kidnapped him from Colegio Santa Ursula!
Welcome to Iguassu!

Young biologists investigating nature

The "Devil's Throat"
In the afternoon, as if we hadn't had enough thrills, our adventuresome group chose to take a high-speed motor boat ride under the falls. It was an exhausting and exhilarating experience!!

Headed through the "jungle" to the boat

Ready for action!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Girl Power!!!!!!!!

We made it!!! It's going to take a few hours to dry off!
