World Affairs Council of DFW Luncheon with Presidente Vicente Fox

While our Australia delegation is asleep in Toowoomba, we have had an exciting day here in Dallas. At the invitation of the World Affairs Council of DFW, a group of our Jr. World Affairs Club students attended the annual Educator of the Year luncheon at the Belo mansion. The featured speaker of the luncheon was Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico. It was a beautiful and inspiring event with a variety of guests from all over Dallas including The Dallas Morning News, Cristo Rey Catholic School and the new Mercado369.

It was particularly moving to hear President Fox reflect on his own Catholic education and how that education has shaped his core values and personal philosophy. He also discussed NAFTA, immigration, DACA and other critical issues facing the USA and Mexico.

President Fox personally called forward the Ursuline students for a photo when he saw our group waiting in line to say hello. He was most gracious and it was thrilling for our students and teachers to meet him. We are most grateful to the World Affairs Council of DFW for including us in this special event!
