Meeting the Mayor of Toowoomba

The special treatment of our delegation continues Down Under. On Thursday, our group was welcomed to the office of Toowoomba mayor, Paul Antonio. Our students loved meeting the mayor.  He spent time talking to our students about the Toowoomba community, answering questions, and even posing for pictures.  The girls felt so blessed to be greeted by such an important person. It was a wonderful afternoon!

After the presentation, the delegation asked the mayor if he would indulge them with a picture with Ana Margarita, our mini-delegate. The Mayor immediately went to his office and returned with his own doll.  The figurine is an excellent likeness of the mayor and wears his official robe and chains.  Mayor Antonio explained that it was a gift from a visiting artist several years ago and that the figurine lives in his office.  Ana Margarita was thrilled to make a new friend!
