Big Day in Big D!

After two days in classes at UA with their host sisters, today our visiting Peru Delegation went out on their first cultural and educational excursion to downtown Dallas.  Their first stop was the 6th Floor museum where the girls learned all about President Kennedy, his legacy and the sad but fascinating details of his assassination in Dallas in 1963.

After a couple of hours  at the museum, our guests were ready to experience their first tastes of Tex-Mex cuisine at a Dallas landmark, El Fenix. The tacos and chips & queso were huge hits! Que rico!

The last stop on today's tour was the Dallas World Aquarium where the students enjoyed walking through a rain forest and seeing all sorts of animals from all over the world. They especially enjoyed the toucans, flamingos and the penguins. The sharks were a great surprise!

What a great day! Now to enjoy the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend with our host families!
