Father Joe & Father Michael celebrate Mass |
Lord I lift your name on high ! |
Special guest Agnes Kasule '01 with Sister Margaret Ann and Sister Mary |
We were privileged to have several special guests and speakers with us for the day. The theme of the day was "Stories of Peace and Justice" so we heard many personal and compelling stories from our guests. Here are a few of the wonderful people who came to Ursuline to be with us for the day:
Father Joseph Luzindana from Uganda was our special guest keynote speaker |
Ugandan artist Natal Gloria (on right) with friends in the global Village |
Keynote speaker Agnes Kasule 01, reunited with classmate Mary Holland 01 |
Torkin Wakefield, BeadforLife founder, spoke about ways to help lift women out of poverty |
Jules McGee '08 spoke about her time in the Peace Corps |
In addition to attending sessions about a variety of social justice issues, we also found a little time to shop in the annual Global market (benefiting a variety of causes around the world from girls' education to elephant conservation). The day ended on a festive note of cultural dances and student performances. It was a fantastic day! |
