Holy Week Holiday

Our delegation in Chile had classes until Wednesday and then, each student left to spend the long Easter weekend with her host family. Some students visited historical and tourist sites, one student went to the big Argentina vs. Chile soccer game (sadly, Chile lost 2-1), several students went to the mountains and others went to the beach. All of the students had a fantastic time! Some of the students' favorite photos of the weekend are below.

Ms. Chinuntdet teaches Origami in Chile

Our students are not the only busy ones in Chile. Our teachers also have several duties at Colegio Santa Ursula. One of the most enjoyable duties for Ms. Chinuntdet was teaching an origami lesson today to the middle school students. It was a challenge at first but all of the students were able to see the task through and each created her very own origami box. Origami was a new experience for the students and they were very grateful to Ms. Chinuntdet for this special lesson.

Life at Colegio Santa Ursula

Our students have enjoyed several wonderful activities at Colegio Santa Ursula this week. They were each able to participate in teaching an English lesson to English language students in the lower school. Some of our Dallas students discussed topics using the phrase "I like" and "I don't like" while others gave a language lesson on the different types of housing found in the USA. Our students had a wonderful lesson themselves - they learned to make alfajores, a delicious traditional Chilean cookie, in cooking class. The school days ended with a Lenten pilgrimage and picnic with the 12th grade. As you can see from the smiles below, our students are feeling very much at home here in Chile and they can't wait for the Easter holiday with their host families!

Bienvenidas a Chile!

Today our UA Dallas delegation was welcomed to Colegio Santa Ursula in Santiago. It was a busy but excellent day where we enjoyed experiencing another Ursuline school. We also took a tour of the city and learned a bit about the history of Chile as well as about Chile's greatest poet, Pablo Neruda. It's only the first day but already we are feeling so happy and at-home with our host sisters!

Leaving for Santiago!

Tonight our Chile delegation departed from DFW for Santiago where they will spend Holy Week with our sister school, Colegio Santa Ursula.  All are excited to visit South America and to meet their host families. We can't wait to hear all about their adventures - Buen viaje!
