Global Day 2018
We had a wonderful Global Day today with the help of many special guests including some of our favorite global alums and our sisters from Huaxia in China and Colegio Santa Ursula in Peru. In the morning, we had a beautiful Mass with Bishop Burns to celebrate the Feast of St. Angela. In the afternoon, we were captivated by a panel of three young women, teenagers, who are refugees who have resettled in Dallas from Iran and Thailand / Myanmar. Their stories were powerful and captivating for all of us who had the privilege of hearing them. Many students spoke with the girls after the panel and many became fast friends. As in years past, we had a successful Global Market which raised money for Wildlife conservation, artists in Africa and for two of our partner schools, Miramar in Peru and St. Catherine's in Kenya. It was a full but fabulous day of learning and discovery.

Welcome to our Huaxia sisters!
We have been having so much fun with our Peruvian sisters but now things are even better because our sisters have arrived from Beijing Huaxia Girls' School! With 21 years of cultural and educational exchange, Huaxia is our oldest sister-school partner. There was great joy as we welcomed the group of 16 students and 2 teachers to Dallas last night. Today, we welcomed them to Ursuline and introduced them to our Peruvian sisters. In fact, the two groups visited the Geodeck and the Dallas Aquarium together this afternoon. It's wonderful for us to all be together!
