Our Taiwan delegates enjoyed a day out in nature this week with their host sisters. First, they visited the Saint Love Villa, a sort of retreat and relaxation center owned by our sister school, Stella Matutina. The Villa is about an hour from Taichung and has a nice walking trail and beautiful butterfly gardens. Our students looked fabulous in their traditional hats - a welcome accessory for protection from the sun.
Later in the day, our students visited the Gaomei Wetlands. The Gaomei Wetlands nature preserve is located in Dajia, Taichung, and is one of the most well known and well preserved wetland habitats in Taiwan. It is a special mix of mud and sand which is an ideal habitat for diverse organisms including birds, fish, crabs, and invertebrates. What a sensational and relaxing place!
