Until we meet again... Farewell Wimbledon Sisters!

Oh what a sad day today at British Airways at DFW Airport! None of us wanted to say goodbye to our Wimbledon Sisters. It was a wonderful visit - a fact made evident by the heart-felt embraces and the MANY tears that were shed at saying farewell. Ursuline High School, we miss you already and can't wait to see you again  in 2019!!

An American Farewell for our UK sisters

Today was the last day for the Wimbledon delegation to be at school with us. As it happens, we arranged for a typically American celebration for this farewell day. And what could be more American than a high school Pep Rally followed by Trick-or-Treating around campus? It was such a festive day and such a lovely way to conclude our way-too-short time together.

Wimbledon goes to Ft. Worth

Our UK sisters had a fantastic true-Texas experience today in Ft. Worth! Together with representatives from our UA Global Advisory Council, They visited the historical Ft. Worth Stockyards, witnessed a cattle drive down Main Street, discovered a petting zoo and learned how to "boot scoot" at Billy Bob's Texas. The students came away thrilled with the experience of cowboy culture - a few may even be going home with some new hats and boots!

Wimbledon at the Perot Museum of Science

Today our delegates from Wimbledon visited the Perot Museum of Science and Nature. The Perot Museum opened in 2012 and offers dynamic experiences to stimulate curiosity in visitors of all ages. The extraordinary building and outdoor space serves as a living science lesson, offering provocative illustrations of engineering, technology and conservation. The museum is located in Victory Park at the corner of Field Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway in the heart of downtown Dallas.

Wimbledon all around Big D

Today our Wimbledon delegation explored some of the important and historical places around Dallas. First, they visited the Kennedy Memorial in downtown Dallas along with some other sites downtown such as the Red Courthouse, the Hyatt Regency and the first log cabin home in Dallas. Soon it was time to stop for a casual lunch. After discovering cheddar fries, a uniquely Dallas sensation available only at Snuffer's hamburgers, the group headed to the George W. Bush Presidential library at SMU. A visit to the (almost) oval office was particularly thrilling for our guests. What a fantastic Dallas Day!
