There were many tears as we bid farewell to the delegation from Stella Matutina today. How we hated to see them go! The good news is that all parties agreed to continue the relationship and to officially proceed as sister schools! So, we will soon begin plans to visit Taiwan and to see our Taiwanese sisters again. Many thanks to our fabulous host families who helped make this delegation visit such a success! Stella girls, we miss you already!

Fossil Rim
Our last activity together with our guests from Taiwan was a visit to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park. It was very special because our host students were able to accompany the Taiwan delegation on this unique adventure. The students loved seeing all of the animals in their natural environment and feeding them. All said that they had never had such an experience in the past. It was so peaceful and relaxing to leave the city for a day and to see a new and exciting part of Texas!

SMU - Southern Methodist University
Today our Taiwanese guests visited SMU and the Bush Presidential Library on the campus of SMU. It was a lovely day - perfect for a walking tour of the beautiful campus. Students learned about SMU and the American University system and also about the legacy of President George W Bush. They also stopped to have lunch at Snuffer's, a famous Dallas Hamburger Restaurant. It was a fantastic day!

Learning about Taiwan
Today our Taiwan delegation gave a presentation all about their school and their country. They also performed a song for our students. It was a marvelous presentation, very interesting and entertaining. We all learned so much about fascinating Taiwan. Stella Matutina also presented Ursuline with a beautiful piece of Tittot glass crafted in Taiwan. We will always treasure this memento of our first exchange!

Dallas Day for the Taiwan Delegation
Today our delegation for Taiwan toured downtown Dallas. They visited Dealy Plaza, City Hall, The Geo Deck at the Hyatt Regency and the Meyerson Symphony center. We were especially excited for our guests to visit the Meyerson and City Hall because both buildings were designed by the famous Chinese architect, I. M Pei. Pei also taught architecture and designed buildings in Taichung City, Taiwan, the home of our guests. It was a wonderful day for all and a lovely introduction to Big D!

HELLO Stella Matutina - Welcome to our school!
Today was a day of welcome for our visiting delegation from Taiwan. Our guests enjoyed a tour of the school, classes with our students and a Hello Kitty themed welcome party. Our UA Dallas Administration welcomed the students and teachers to Ursuline Academy. There was cake, laughter and even a surprise visit from Honey Buns, UA's mascot. It was a lovely beginning to our time together!
