This week our Brazilian delegation experienced a different environment from that of "Big D," the big city. We took the entire delegation to Fossil Rim wildlife park where we spent the night is a rustic cabins near a beautiful watering hole. The park gave students the opportunity to see many native Texas animals in their natural environment. They also saw countless other animals, not native to Texas, because Fossil Rim does tremendous conservation and education work on behalf of many species. Of course, the students enjoyed feeding the animals and being outside in the fresh air. We enjoyed beautiful weather and lovely scenery at Fossil Rim. What a fantastic experience!!

Celebrating Peace One Day at UA
Every September 21 at UA, we take some time to reflect on peace and to celebrate the International Day of Peace also known as "Peace One Day." This year, we were very fortunate to have with us our friends from Uganda, Agnes Kasule '01 and Father Joeseph Luzindana as well as our Ursuline brothers and sisters on the Brazil delegation. Together with our UA Peer Ministers, the festive international group led the school in a short prayer service which asked all UA students "What does peace mean to you?" It was a lively and thought-provoking service which ended with a joyful blessing from Father Joe. How wonderful that we could all be together on this important occasion!
Brazilians in and around Big D
Today was "Dallas Day" for our Brazilian delegation. The group, along with our visiting guests from Uganda, went to downtown Dallas where they visited the 6th Floor Museum which is a museum dedicated to the legacy of President Kennedy. It is located at the site of President Kennedy's assassination so the museum has great historical significance for Dallas as well as the rest of the USA. After an emotional but very interesting visit to the museum, the group went across the metroplex to the AT&T Football (American football) stadium. The students had a great time learning about this uniquely American sport and touring the immense stadium. It was the perfect introduction day to life in "Big D."

Welcoming the Brazilians to UA
Today was a very special day at UA as we welcomed our first student guests of the year. The Brazil delegation introduced themselves on the PA system and had a tour of UA before attending classes with their host sisters. It was wonderful to be together with old and new friends. Of course, we celebrated all day with lots of hugs, laughs and cake - the Ursuline way! Welcome to UA Dallas!!
Welcome Brazil !!
This weekend we welcomed our first sister-school delegation of the year! The delegation from Colegio Santa Ursula in Brazil arrived bright and early Saturday morning (5 AM!) into the sleepy but loving arms of their UA Dallas host sisters. We are thrilled to have our Brazilian brothers and sisters with us and we can't wait to enjoy the next two weeks together!

Ugandan Educators visit UA Dallas
For the last two weeks, we at Ursuline have had the pleasure of hosting a group of Catholic educators from Uganda. The group is from St. Peter's Catholic School in Kampala, Uganda. We began our relationship with St. Peter's last year when we visited Uganda in conjunction with our partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Kampala. The principal of St. Peter's School, Remy Mungere and the Dean of Academics, Immaculate Nassozi, have been accompanied by our old and dear friends from Uganda, Father Joseph Luzindana and Agnes Kasule '01.
Of course, the visit was also full of fun and cultural moments. We will always treasure the memories of our good times with our Ugandan friends!!
We have enjoyed a fantastic and fast-paced visit which has included many classroom visits, school visits, the "Lunch with a View" event and more. Our guests seemed to love every minute of their UA Dallas experience. They tell us that they have learned many new things here at that we have inspired them to explore some new ideas at St. Peter's School.
