We began our day with lots of tears and hugs as we bid farewell to our brothers and sisters from France. We had a wonderful two week exchange and we hope this will beginning of a long partnership. We sent the group off with Texas pins to remember their time with us and then it was time to go - reluctantly! Thank you for visiting us - we will see you in Paris! Au Revoir!

Visiting Ft. Worth
Of course, no trip to Texas would be complete without a visit to "Cowboy country." Today our French guests visited Ft. Worth, our sister city to the west. They visited the Stockyards where they witnessed an authentic cattle drive of our famous Texas Longhorns. The group also had a dance lesson at Billy Bob's Texas and they practiced saying "Howdy" all afternoon. Today was a true Texas experience!

Journalism Class with our French guests
Today our French guests joined our Journalism Newspaper students for class and lunch. They were interviewed as a whole group and then individually by our UA Bear Facts reporters. The French students had a great time answering questions about their lives in Paris and our UA Dallas students enjoyed learning all about being a teenager in France. It was a terrific exchange of ideas - Well done, Bear Facts staff!

Discovering Latin America in Dallas
Months ago, when we were planning the visit of our French sister school to Dallas, we were told that the students wanted to learn a bit about Latin America because they have not had an opportunity to study much about Latin American cultures. So, today we did a bit of discovery of the Americas right here in Dallas! We ate breakfast at Taqueria La Ventana and then we visited the Cathedral which is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. We toured the Dallas World Aquarium which allowed the students to walk through a rain forest and to see all sorts of animals from all over Latin America. Then, we had a Mexican / Salvadoran lunch at Gloria's and stopped in to visit the Latino Cultural center. Our day ended with a visit to Coco Andre, a Latina-owned chocolate shop. Fue excelente!

Dallas Day
Today our visiting delegation had the opportunity to explore some of the highlights of Downtown Dallas. They visited the 6th Floor Museum, the Meyerson Symphony center and the hard Rock Café Dallas. The Meyerson visit was very special because they were there for the monthly organ recital. It was a fantastic day and a great way to be introduced to Big D!

Visiting Fossil Rim Wildlife Park
Yesterday we enjoyed a holiday from classes which gave our host students the opportunity to go on an excursion with their French brothers and sisters. It was a beautiful day and ideal for heading out of the city and into the country. Fossil Rim Wildlife Park is about an hour and a half southwest of Dallas in the town of Glen Rose, Texas. It is a beautiful park dedicated to animal conservation. Our students had a wonderful time interacting with the animals and feeding them. It was a fantastic day and a wonderful way to begin our time with the Paris delegation from St. Ursule!
